Ordering numbers
Ordering a set of numbers means arranging them from smallest to largest. For example, to order the set of whole numbers, W=0,1,2,3,4,…, you simply list them in ascending order as shown. Another example: let’s order the fractions 1/2,1/5,3/12,7/9,21/22. Arranged from smallest to largest, the correct order is 1/5,3/12,1/2,7/9,21/22.
Ordering helps us compare values clearly and is essential for understanding relative sizes.
